RENT + MOVE IN = LIVING

General information about the rent
Occupancy will be possible from 15 July 2016. The minimum apartment tenancy will be six months. Observance of the statutory period of notice with effect from the end of the semester will also be agreed.
The rent net of overheads for an apartment is from EUR 460/month, depending on type and size. Plus an advance payment of EUR 3.30 per square metre for overheads. This will cover, for example, the cost of internet usage (up to 20 Mbit/sec.), broadband connection including TV and radio, heating, hot water and any general overheads such as water, sewerage, lift, refuse disposal, etc. Only the electricity costs will come on top. Each tenant will be responsible for registering for electricity on entry.
Medienfenster is designed primarily for student living. We also rent to non-students, couples or families. Individuals under the age of 18 may also rent. In this case, we shall conclude the tenancy agreement with the parents, subject to a financial guarantee from them (contract of employment and salary statements). The 1 and 11/2 room apartments are each designed for one tenant and may only be occupied by one person. Of course, guests will be permitted to visit. All the apartments are non-smoking and will be let fully-furnished.

Are you interested in one of our apartments and do you wish to rent for yourself or your child? Then complete the adjacent enquiry form with the desired type of apartment and send it to us. You will then receive all further information by e-mail direct from our staff. As demand may be high, please be patient.

If you wish to rent a furnished apartment in Medienfenster, please e-mail us the desired apartment type and the following complete documents for your application. In order to so simplify things for everyone concerned, we can only process complete application documents.

  • Disclosure of personal information(to be found on the website as a download) 
    This will require your signature to confirm the accuracy of all the information and the desired apartment type. Should the interested party be under the age of 18, the parents must complete and sign the forms.
  • Evidence of creditworthiness
    We shall require three salary slips or a contract of employment for yourself or your parents. We must be able to verify your ability to pay the monthly rent.

If you are sending scans and photographs, please ensure that the information is easily legible and send us your fully-completed documents by e-mail. We will accept documents combined in pdf format./p>

After we have examined the documents you have submitted and checked your creditworthiness, we will send you an e-mail with some proposed apartments in the building, depending on the availability of the type you require.

Now select your apartment and inform us of your decision by e-mail.
If applicable, you may arrange an appointment to view larger apartments with members of our staff.

Sign your tenancy agreement!
You will receive your prepared tenancy agreement from us by e-mail. Please print it out in duplicate , sign it and post it back to us. Should the interested party be under the age of 18, the parents must rent the apartment on behalf of the child. You can view a specimen tenancy agreement, including all the annexes, e.g. house rules, energy performance certificate, German Regulation on Overheads and a wide variety of other information on the website under Downloads.
Payment of a deposit: a deposit of three months’ rent net of overheads must be paid to the account specified in the tenancy agreement approximately one week before the handover date. The deposit will constitute security for the rent and will be invested in a fiduciary account for as long as you are the tenant.

Collect your keys!
We shall arrange an appointment for you to collect the keys. All you still have to do now is register with your chosen electricity supplier and you are free to move in!
All incidental costs of the apartment such as heating, water, internet, cable connection charge and any other overheads will be deducted from your inclusive payment for overheads
